New Bremen (NY) – For the second week of 2008, Mother Nature came out the winner at the Adirondack International Speedway. After suffering just one rain-out in 2007, the Speedway has gone three for five in getting their race events in the books at the ASA-sanctioned facility.

After early afternoon thunderstorms rushed through Western New York and made their way across the North Country, the Speedway cancelled the nights action early enough to save most teams the trip to the Lowville (NY) oval. As several teams travel in excess of two to three hours to make their way to the facility, track owner Paul Lyndaker thought it was in the best interest of all the fans and teams to cancel the nights plans early. “The way gas prices are, we didn’t want the fans or teams to come out and be greeted with rain showers, especially with it calling for more rain into the evening hours.”

With the rain-out the Speedway has shifted their attention to this Saturday’s “School’s Out Celebration”. Rescheduled for this Saturday will also be the Twin 25’s for the ASA Challenger Late Models. The event, planned for this past Saturday, will show two 25-lap feature events for the ultra-competitive Late Models. Also on the docket will be the renowned and highly anticipated “Ultimate Bike Giveaway”. In 2007, this event gave 32 lucky children a brand new bike at no cost. The ultimate gift for any kid, as the summer vacation begins.

Heading into this Saturday, Tommy Cloce of Canton leads all Lyndaker Exc. & Trk. ASA Late Models in the point standings with two victories to his credit while right behind him is former Track Champion Chris Ross. Ross, with three top-five finishes in the three events, is hungry for a win and will be shooting for his first of the season in this weekends Twin 25’s. Sitting third through fifth is Bryant Trim, Lee Gill and Jerry Dineen. While all three have been feature winners at the Speedway in the past, Lee Gill is the only one to pick one up in 2008. Look for him to be looking for win #2 this Saturday.

Other divisions that will be in competition will be the D&D Powersports Sport Compacts and their point leader Rudy Widrick, the GotGoodCheese.com True Stocks led by Tom Markham and the Westward Painting Company Light Trucks and their top driver David Beyer.
