New Bremen (NY) – This coming Saturday, the Adirondack International Speedway will swing their gates open with the second event of the young 2008 season. With four divisions of racing looking to take center stage once again, their spotlight will have to be shared with some of the nations best, The Armed Forces of the United States of America.
Sponsored by Otis Gun Technology and in part by AmeriCU Federal Credit Union, this Saturday’s Military Appreciation Night is expected to be the biggest of its kind at the ASA-sanctioned racing facility. As all Active Military and their families will be admitted free of charge, the Speedway is also hosting an invite-only Chicken Barbeque for the “Wounded Warriors Battalion.”
Serving as an added bonus, the local 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum will be in attendance with a number of military vehicles as well as a Color Guard squad to send off the nights main events.
With the pit gates scheduled to open at 3:30pm, the grandstands will do so at 4:30pm. Racing will begin at 6:30pm sharp. The racecard will be made up of the popular Lyndaker Excavating & Trucking ASA Challenger Late Models, the GotGoodCheese.com True Stocks, D&D Powersports Sport Compacts and the Westward Painting Company Light Trucks.
